Kenyan stakeholder workshop
Kenya is implementing the global blue economy agenda and has established a full-fledged ministry to address these objectives. KMFRI is a member of AfriMAQUA, which is a United Nations Ocean Decade Programme focused on creating interdisciplinary partnerships and collaborations among African countries to promote sustainable marine aquaculture using a nutrition-sensitive approach. One of its key objectives is to identify factors that drive or hinder sustainable marine aquaculture development in Africa, addressing both food security and local community empowerment.
In this context, the upcoming workshop serves as a platform for various stakeholders, including academia, government, industry, and civil society, who are committed to advancing Kenya's marine aquaculture. The workshop will facilitate discussions and strategic planning for future scenarios of marine aquaculture and capacity development in Kenya.
